Deer Fly Patches Tape

The Deer Flies have been driving me nuts when running the dogs or just out hiking.

I bought one of these the other day for a couple of reason. The first is that even though I have AAA and Roadside Assistance through my insurance I do hunt in a lot of places that can take a while to get to and I thought these might keep me from being stranded for a longer period of time. 

The second is that it actually takes up less room in my travel box than the jumper cable did. Still hoping that I never have to use them. 

Wound Seal Stop Cuts From Bleeding

I bought a 4 pack of Wound Seal after seeing an ad for it and threw it into my first aid kit that I have for my dogs.  One evening I was cutting open a package and my knife slipped and I sliced my index finder pretty deep.  I tried just using pressure and a towel and it wouldn't stop bleeding.  I went out to my truck and grabbed that Wound Seal package.  I ended up pouring 2 of the small containers onto the cut and it stopped bleeding.

I ordered a pack of 4 kits each with 4 tubes of seal.  I put a couple in the kit that I carry into the woods, a pack in our home kit, and then refilled the kit I keep in the truck.  Hopefully I won't have to use it but it works well.
